Providing a planning tool is part of my duty as a post-doc research
scientist at the Australian Inst. Marine Science few years ago.
The tool (JAVA) and its guide (pdf) is now available at
http://data.aims.gov.au/cad/ to be distributed for free and will be
put in ACIAR and NACA sites.

Similar to what Pak Halmar has developed during his Post-doc research. We have also previously developed a software called "PondTool" for land-based (Pond-based) aquaculture that includes several modules covering tools for hydrological, soil analysis, fish pond engineering. The software is designed for more advanced farmers and extension officers working on brackishwater aquaculture. As a tool, it must be tested and adapted to real aquaculture phenomena cosidering spatial variability and different in environmental factors. The version 1 of the software has been distributed for free in Ujung Batee Aceh to support the post-tsunami rehabilitation project. And we're planning to release the newest version and distribute it to Research and development institutions within the ministry of marine affairs and fieheries (MMAF) and to whom who need it.

Best Regards,

Taruna
